A review of Eljo's by Aberdeen girl written on Friday 13th of June 2008
I was at eljos the other night, there was a big group of us, and they just couldnt handle catering for us. To begin with we arrived at 7pm, they took our drinks order, and in the space of ten minutes i was asked 3 times what it was i wanted again as they had forgotten!! eventually i got my drink, and then did not recieve any food (apart from small slices of bread) until 8:20pm, and even the bread wasnt enough for us all, and when we asked for more the waitress asked us to share as much as possible as you only get a certain amount per table (bearing in mind there was 22 of us at the table, and only 2 baskets of bread.)
We then eventually got some food, we went for the £15 fixed menu, and when it came i couldnt belive my eyes, i understand it was a tapas style, but the whole table was having to pass round the bowls of food, as there wasnt enough spread round the table. The variation of food was also awful, we had some meatballs, squid rings, chicken paella and spicy potatoes, and bearing in mind i am also a vegetarian the selection was very very poor. We had been told that the fixed menu also included mushrooms, calamari etc., which would have given me slightly more options, but we never saw these yet!!!
dont ever go, you are guaranteed to be diasppointed.
I love eating out, but couldnt wait to get home after that night out.
